Black Bag Race Series

The age group in which you will compete all year is determined by the age you are when you run your first Black Bag Race Series event and you will stay in that age group the entire year.  Your points will be awarded as if you were still in the same age group.  For example, if you run your first 2012 Black Bag event and you are 49 years old, you are placed in the 45-49 year old age group for points.  The next race you run you have had a birthday and turned 50, points will be awarded as if you were still 49 and finished in the 45-49 year old age group.  If you look at the posted results, you will be in the new age group but look in the younger age group to see how many points you were awarded.  You will not receive points in the new age group.  For example if Roger Ryles is 49 at his first race and his closest competitor is Bo Keel who is 48, they both will be in the 45-49 year age group.  When Roger turns 50 at the race they are in different age groups for race awards but for BBRS points Roger will still be getting points in the younger age group.  As far as points go, you are still 49, will be placed as if you were 49 and receive points as if you finished in the 45-49 age group.  It is designed to be more competive.  You will compete for Black Bag Points against the same people in the same age group at every race all year long.
